Registration Process
Registration with the London Left Hand Drive Centre to become a Member and advertise your car for sale is a free, simple and secure process.
Step 1
The first step is to click on the "SELL CAR" button in the "Do you have a left hand drive car for sale?" box on the home page.
The only information you need to provide is your email address, a contact telephone number and a password, which should be memorable to you, but difficult for anyone else to guess. The password must be between 5 and 25 characters in length and can comprise a mixture of upper and lower case letters and numbers.
We immediately send a message to your email address, containing a link back to our website. This link includes a security code unique to your registration. The message has the Subject: "London Left Hand Drive Registration".
The London Left Hand Drive Centre will never disclose your telephone number to a third party. We ask for your phone number because we have found that this is often the quickest way for us to get in touch with you after we have been indirectly contacted by a potential buyer.
Step 2
Open up your email, find the message referred to above, and click on the link contained in the message to return to the London Left Hand Drive Centre website.
If the security code contained in that link matches the information held at our website, you will be asked to re-enter your password. You will also be asked to accept the terms and conditions for using the website.
If the password matches the one that you entered in step 1, the registration process is complete and you are now registered as a Member. This means that you can add, modify or delete details of cars that you wish to sell through the website.
Adding Cars to the Database
Once you are a registered member, you can click on "SELL CAR" on the Home Page and then enter your email address and password to log in to the Members' area of the website. You will be able to
- add a new car to the database (there are a number of links to the instructions for doing this)
- edit details or delete a car that you have previously added to the database
- change your email address and/or password
Security
Your email address does not appear publicly on the website.
A potential buyer can contact you by completing a "Contact the Seller" form, linked to the car details page. The potential buyer is requested to enter email address, name and comments into the form, which is then automatically sent to you as an email, together with summary information about the car.
The buyers will only see your email address when you reply to them.
Password Forgotten?
If you forget your password, you should send an email to the London Left Hand Drive Centre at londonlhdcentre@gmail.com with the subject "Member Password Forgotten".
The LHD Centre does not have access to your password, but upon receiving your request will reset your existing password. A new password will be randomly generated and automatically sent in a message to your email address.
You can then log in using the new password and if you wish you can change this through the Member Editing Options page. (This is the first page you reach after logging in.)
